DIY Ruffled Sock

I made these this morning. I love ruffles so I absolutely had to make myself a pair of ruffled socks. I used to wear them when I was younger so I never noticed that it is impossible to find them for adults (for a reasonable price)........

I bought these socks at Wal-Mart for $1 a piece. The lace is from Joann Fabric Store and it was $2.50 a yard.

You will need about 1 yard of lace for 1 pair of socks.

1) Mark where you want both sides of the lace to meet up. I marked the inside of the sock because I did not want my seams to be visible.

2) Now turn your sock inside out and stretch it over the sewing machine. Overlap the edge of the sock and the sewn edge of your lace together. Drop your foot and sew all the way around the edge of the sock until you reconnect the lace together

Now you just cut off the extra lace and turn your sock right side out again.

VOILA!

My First Ribbon!

I have been watching ribbon making videos all day. I got some cute Hello Kitty ribbon on sale at Wal-Mart and I wanted to make a cute hair bow.

Final Product! :) I think it came out good.

Creative Day

I made Resin clay cabochons today. It was a lot of fun, but I had a really hard time with my clay because it was a little dry. I have not painted them yet though. I need to go to the store tomorrow and buy some acrylic paint.

Seller Mayan Etsy

Etsy supplies from the wonderful seller MAYAN. I purchased $100 worth of rhinestones and cabochons so this next month should be a VERY productive Deko time :)

Just as long as I keep buying cool stuff to deco! I am running out of things. I do my shoes, water bottles, phones, what is next?

Supplies to Deco-den

I really want to deco another phone but this time I want to do a WATERMELON theme! I ordered acrylic rhinestones to save some money, plus they are pretty when you use a lot. I also ordered some large pearls.

Dance a-Gogo

I really want to have a video that I can do for fun while I am home. I decided to look on youtube for some and I came across these videos. They look super fun and I can't wait to try them tomorrow. I love getting things in the mail, it's almost like getting a present because you totally forget that you PAID for it.

EDC 2010 Was Fun!

Ok ok........ so it was 47 degrees, and it did rain the entire time but it was fun. Dancing nonstop in the rain and freezing my medium size butt off was really fun.

Benny Banassi was so cute! He was so cold up there and he kept yawning so it was funny. ATB was good as well. I was FROZEN by the end of the night but it was worth it.

Next year we are going to L.A. for EDC!

Making Molds

Random pic of my puppy
Today my silicone will arrive so I can make molds for cabochons. I also bought more resin clay to play around with. I want to Deco another phone case, but this time with frosting and candies. I want to turn my phone into one big cake.

Yesterday night my dance class was great :) Learned a new pole spin that was pretty tiring. My shoulders are sore today but other than that I feel good. I might meet the hubbs this afternoon for a baseball game, but no plans on that yet. I was so dehydrated last night; I am just starting to recover.

It's pretty awesome that summer time is so fabulous here in CO. There is never a dull moment. I guess the summer makes up for the 7 months of freezing cold weather. I do NOT like the cold at all so the winter was pretty rough on me. I am a desert girl so hot summers and somewhat mild winters were all I knew. I think with time I may get used to it because the summers are definitely worth the torture of winter.

Ugly but YUMMY!

I decided to just make miniature pecan pies. I used Almonds because I did not have Pecans but it still tasted really good.

They looked really UGLY! I was not happy with the pie crust recipe. The filling is really good though. I will make these again, but with a different pie crust recipe.

Miniature Pies

Mini pies have been popular for a while, but it wasn't until a few days ago that it occurred to me that I could make these myself. I found a recipe on

www.recipezaar.com/recipe/Mini-Apple-Pies-So-Easy-Not-Much-Hassel-286704

I think I am going to try this out tonight. I am not a fan of apple pie.....unless there is ice cream present, but DH (dear husband) loves them.

Ingredients

CRUST

FILLING

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Get muffin pan out. No need to grease it.
  2. 2
In food processor blend flour, salt and butter until it looks like little peas.
  3. 3
Add in water and blend just until it looks like it's sticking.
  4. 4
Take out and combine it by hand until well blended.
  5. 5
Roll out on lightly floured surface until about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. 6
Cut 12, 4 inch circles with cup or bowl.(You will need to roll out twice).
  7. 7
Note: you can use the rest of the crust for anything you may want to do on top of the pies.
  8. 8
Press each circle in muffin tins until all the way up each side, to form little bowls.
  9. 9
Mix by hand all filling ingredients and spoon into muffin bowls.
  10. 10
Cut up butter into 12 little pieces and place one piece on each pie.
  11. 11
You can decorate them anyway you like with extra crust, or just leave plain.
  12. 12
Bake at 425 degrees for 16-18 minutes. (Until crust is light brown and apples are bubbling).
  13. 13
When cool, just loosen with a spoon and they'll come right out!

A Little Bling

I bought this Hello Kitty compact in Japan. Today I was a little board in between dance and study sessions so I put a little bling on it. Definitely makes it more Kawaii.

I think it came out really cute and it only took a few minutes. I used Gemtac and some 5ss Swarovski crystals.

Ouran High School Host Club ❀◕‿◕❀

This show is SO FUNNY! I never stopped laughing. It was pretty adorable.

Kiss, Kiss, Fall in LOVE!

Double Rainbow

We were riding our bikes around Denver to run some errands and it started sprinkling. It was great because we were pretty exhausted after riding uphill. We looked up and saw one perfect rainbow! It was great because I had never seen a perfect rainbow that went down on both sides. As we got closer to home we noticed a second rainbow appearing.

It was magical!
