Powder Reviews from Haul

The Chanel was probably the second most coverage after the Dior. It was very silky and soft. I really like the compact because it is larger and it has a very big mirror. I also like the Chanel because you can just buy refills for the compact and the refills are only $40. It offered medium coverage for my skin and it was very easy to apply. The color I purchased is a little off though; I am going to exchange it today.

The YSL powder is really soft and silky . I love the tiny gold compact too. But the powder was very sheer. It would be a good finishing powder or to get rid of oil and shine but I wouldn't use it as a foundation powder. It was very nice and soft on my skin though.

I really liked the Dior powder a lot. Out of the 4 powders it gave the most coverage. I really didn't like the compact though. It is hard to open and hard to use. The Dior powder is great though. It is sooooooo silky and is goes on so smooth.

I really have nothing good to say about the powder. I love the case it comes in but the powder was not good. It was grainy and course when I touched it. It gave medium coverage but it clung to every piece of dry skin on my face (from the Obagi). I will never buy this powder again.

Conclusion:
The Dior was my favorite powder, but I disliked the compact enough that I wouldn't buy it. The Chanel was my next favorite because the compact is the best and the powder was pretty good. My third favorite is the YSL because it was just too sheer for what I was looking for in a powder. And the Fresh powder comes last because I just really didn't like the powder; it was grainy.

Makeup Haul!!!!! Powders

Today I went to the mall and spent tooooooo much money!!!!! I am looking for a good setting powder/foundation powder to use. I went to Sephora and bought:
YSL Matt and Radiant Powder
Fresh Facial Luster
Dior skin Forever Compact Teint Haute Perfection
Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder

THEN I went to Nordstrom and stopped by the CHANEL counter and I picked up the CHANEL Double Perfection Teint Compact.

After spending lots of money at the mall I went to Dollar Tree to buy some random storage boxes and came across some Sally Hansen Moist & Matte Liquid Color ($1!!!) Dollar Tree has GREAT makeup products sometimes.

So I will post reviews for these products tomorrow when I get some time. I can't WAIT!!!!! :)

Liquid Eyeliner with a Brush

Another thing I like to do sometimes when I find a great liquid eyeliner formula is use my own applicator brush. I buy really fine brushes at my local craft store and they work great. I really like the Revlon color stay liquid eyeliner so I usually use that one with my brushes. Then I just dip the brush in the product and apply it. It is really easy, just make sure you have high quality bushes and wash them after you use them.
Maybelline Ultra-Liner Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner
Features:

  • Waterproof
  • Smudgeproof
  • Won't fade or flake off all day
  • Skip-proof color glides on smoothly and evenly
From buymebeauty.com

This liquid eyeliner is 'ok' in my opinion. The brush applicator is nice but it is hard to make a fine tip with this brush. The formula is long lasting and a nice black. The brush does not carry much product so I have to re-dip it 4-5 times per eye for enough product. The price is great, under $6 at drug stores. It comes in brown and black.

Overall I won't purchase this again. The formula is great but the applicator is pretty bad.

CHANEL Liquid Eyeliner

I bought this CHANEL liquid eyeliner because I love CHANEL. I have searched for a while for reviews about this product with no luck. I decided to bite the bullet and pay the hefty $36 price tag to try this product out.

Pros: Long lasting formula.
Brush Applicator.
Easy Application.
I can apply more than one coat and the brush wont remove the previous coat.

Cons: EXPENSIVE.
Not an intense black.
Must apply more than one coat.

This is a great liquid eyeliner but it is definitely not worth $36. I actually don't think any liquid eyeliner should cost more than $25. This price tag is obviously a result of the 'brand name' CHANEL. For the price this eyeliner better last for a long time.

Smashbox Liquid Eyeliner Review

I went to the mall today to purchase some liquid eyeliners to start this eyeliner journey.

This liquid eyeliner is from Smashbox. The color is Jet Black and it has a stiff felt tip. Cost $22 at Sephora.

Pros: Very intense black
Easy to apply
Long lasting
Easily make thin and thick lines

Cons: I don't really like felt tips

Liquid Eyeliner Journey

I have decided to start a little experiment for the next few weeks. I LOVE liquid eyeliner and I have used it almost every day for the last 8 or 9 years. It is my MUST have makeup product and I am always looking for the next best thing. I have lots of opinions on liquid eyeliners and I am going to start posting reviews on all of the liquid eyeliners I have come in contact with.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner

I have the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. I have had it for a few days and I just decided today if I liked it or not. The applicator is a little tricky but once I got used to it I definitely like this liquid eyeliner.

It took me a few days but I like it now. Before I would apply it and the liquid would hardly come out and then I would tell myself 'ugh I don't like this eyeliner'. BUT then I would decide to use it again and it would work perfectly so then I would change my mind AGAIN. I think I just had to get used to the applicator.

It is like a pen with a brush at the end and there is no button to push to make more eyeliner come out. My Shu Uemura liquid eyeliner pen has a button on the bottom that you can press to make more product come out which I like.

I love liquid eyeliner!

Revlon Nude Attitude Vs. MAC Cremesheen Lipstick

I seriously LOVE this lipstick so I wanted to make a totally separate review for it. It looks so nice and it is very moisturizing. I am actually wearing it again today. I like it a lot better than the MAC Cremesheen because the MAC dries my lips up. And I also like the color better. There is a MAC color that is almost the same as this Revlon one but I completely forgot the name. The Revlon Nude Attitude is more creamy beige which is good for me because I have an olive skin tone.

Obagi Nu-Derm Week 4

WEEK 4 YAY! I am so excited. I keep seeing results. They may look small in the picture, but it is definitely a noticeable change. Obagi has become a routine now; like second nature. I wake up and apply it then before I go to bed I apply it again. The morning takes the longest because there are 2 more steps. My hyper pigmentation is a lot lighter so I am happy with that. My face has stopped being red and it only peals in small spots once a day. I am feeling great about this system. It has only been 4 weeks and my skin is noticeably lighter so I am excited to see my skin after 12 weeks!

Makeup Haul

Makeup is so much fun. All of my makeup in this video were found at Wal-mart and Sephora. Sephora is such a fun store. Everytime I go in there I just want to play with everything. I sampled some Urban Decay eye shadows and I was really impressed. They have really good eye shadow. Well I hope you enjoy this video. Sorry this turned out really bright as well.

Forever 21 Haul

This is a video of what I bought on my birthday. I had such a nice weekend with MBH. We just relaxed and enjoyed each other. I even got to go to the mall and shop! It's so funny, most guys find the mall torture but MBH did not complain the WHOLE TIME. He wanted me to have the best day ever so he just followed me around and helped pick things out with me. He is so sweet.

I hope you like the video. It is really bright today so the video came out SUPER bright. I got a lot of cute jewelry and some clothes. Everything I bought was under $10; gotta love XXI.

Is It Possible?

To love something/someone more every day!? Well I love Obagi more and more every day. This morning I woke up and I saw the most beautiful skin........on MY face. It was bright, clean, and nearly flawless. I am definitely a believer that Obagi works.

So my birthday is tomorrow :( and I am not very excited to be getting older. When you are a teenager you can't wait to reach 21, and when you are 21 you want to start getting younger again (at least I do). I just feel like as you age time goes faster because we are busier and life gets in the way more. But there is nothing we can do to stop it so I try to make the best of it. My darling best friend MBH took a few days off of work to spend with me on my birthday weekend. I love him, he is a great friend. He and I are just watching movies and relaxing.

Obagi Nu-Derm Week 3

Week 3 has been good. My face stopped burning and now it is just a little red sometimes and it starts to peel in the afternoon. I am starting to see the Obagi working and I am THRILLED! I am getting tired of this 'no makeup' thing. But I don't see the point in getting dolled up at this time because I am focusing on my skin.

Decoden Frosting from Wal-Mart

This Alex Plus DAP (Acrylic, Latex, Caulk Plus, Silicone) Caulk is my new favorite frosting product. I got two forms; one comes out of the caulk gun and the other is in a can. The one in the can is a less thick, and the can is sort of like a whip cream can. I will use both of these in my next project.

Bought at Wal-Mart in home improvement section.

Obagi Nu-Derm Day 15

I just wanted to show you this peeling skin. I feel like a freak lol. I went out to eat tonight with MBH and I was trying to hide my face the whole time. I think I will stay in for the next few days. It's nice to see it working so well!
